Locks of Love

Hannah, my 4 year old, finally decided it was time to cut her hair. I donated my hair March of 07 and at the time she said she wanted to do it also when her hair grew out. So today after her bath she announced it was time to cut her hair. We measured and there was enough so I cut it off! I am so proud of my daughter for willing, and wanting to help other! She was talking bout the little girl who would wear her hair as we cut it off. I tried not to cry! It is amazing how a trial can bring out the best in people and bring a family together! I love my children and don't know what I would do without my husband! I am proud of their strength and support! I love you guys!

Hey Anne. I think it's awesome that you are doing this. Hopefully you'll be able to help someone out there. Hannah looks darling with short hair. It was fun to see Mike, too bad it was under sad circumstances. Call me anytime!
Love ya, Karen

Hi, my name is Sarah and I am a 30 year old mother of two. While pregnant with my second son, I was diagnosed with a desmoid tumor. I had my son in June and had surgery to remove a 3-4 pound tumor from my shoulder girdle 5 days ago. How is everything with your tumor now?

HI! I'm Andrea, from Brasil. I'm 39. I discovered a desmoid when I had almost 30.Like you, it was in gluteous muscles, and I had it taken twice, by surgery; on the second time, the doctors decided to use chemo, too, that one red (Vincristina?). The second surgery was in 2004. Now, I can't have babies, anymore, You know, we must have hope,I'm alive, tha's what really matters.

Hello my name is Rebecca Grivois and I was diagnosed with my desmoid tumor in November 2006. I went through 3 surgeries to try and remove it. All three failed as first surgery was wrong kind of doctor, second was that it involved my right kidney and the doctor didn't feel right removing my kidney. The third attempt at removal was the worst, still would lose the kidney but now involves the blood supply to my small bowel which I don't have much left. So the quality of my life would be very bleek. I was told I would only live for three days on a feeding tube. I am still living with my desmoid tumor and taking the Gleevec treatment.
